The Transition Committee Chairman of Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Chief James Ndukwe has called on the residents to see the monthly sanitation exercise as a task that requires collective efforts.

Interacting with a cross section of newsmen at Ohafia Council Headquarters shortly after monitoring the exercise for the month of February, Chief Ndukwe who felt unsatisfied with the level of compliance during the cleanup, further reminded the residents that a wealthy environment is a clean and green environment.

Ndukwe who monitored the level of participation in Ebem-Ohafia, Amaekpu, Asaga road and Ohafia Council road, pointed out that it is high time residents stopped waiting for the government to force them to clean or tidy up their surroundings before they do so.

Ndukwe tasked them to imbibe and embrace the culture of cleanliness for the best interest of their wellbeing and wellness.

He appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who has sustained the exercise in the state, even as he promised to work assiduously towards making Ohafia LGA one of the neatest Council in the state.
