High Chief Ikechi Emenike: The Rescue Agent (Part 1) ~ By Emma Ukaegbu

Abia no doubt needs urgent rescue and development due to the malfunctioning of critical sectors in the state ensuing from the bastardisation by successive administrations while leaving the State and her people wallowing in poverty and underdevelopment.

It is therefore in the light of the above that power needs to change hands from the old horses that have relegated development to the background while siphoning the collective treasury of the state. But the question has always been, who amongst the candidates in the 2023 Governorship election has all it takes to rescue and give Abia the needed development?

This puzzle staring Abians in the face, is a simple one to scale through if Abians can collectively, sincerely and carefully look the way of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who has craftily identified and developed a template to rescue Abia from her current state.

A cursory look at his 23 Key Deliverables for 2023 if he emerges Governor of the State, means that High Chief Ikechi Emenike has indeed studied Abia wholistically and penciled down areas that are begging for urgent attention and action.

There is no gainsaying the fact that the Abia of our Dream is achievable if we can collectively pause and ask what Abia has looked like these past 24 years under the saddle of successive governments who have arrogated so much wealth to themselves and their families?

The deplorable condition of Abia has climaxed, as no sector in the state, is wearing a good look. Today in Abia, corruption has been institutionalised by those on the saddle while leaving pensioners and teachers at their mercy. But in High Chief Ikechi Emenike, Abians will heave a sigh of relief as he has promised prompt and institutionalised payment of salaries and pensions.

Related to the above, is the provision of social welfare services and monthly stipends for valuable members of the society. There is no doubt that High Chief Ikechi Emenike is determined to re-right the wrongs in the State.

High Chief Ikechi Emenike has always reiterated that his mission remains to rescue and develop Abia State just as he has stated that if underdevelopment in the State persists after putting up certain indices, he will determinedly lead the charge for the emergence of a First World State, even in a Third World country.

What else would Abians be asking for in man who has always insisted that on competence, professionalism among other virtues that drive economies of nations. Abia is not finished, rather the State is about to get better with High Chief Ikechi Emenike on the saddle.

Therefore, the choice is for Abians to make. They must join in the rescue mission of High Chief Ikechi Emenike for the benefit of their generations yet unborn or sustain the current status quo which has deprived them basic necessities of life as citizens of the State.
