2023 Guber: Rescuing Abia Requires Holistic, Systematic Approach ~ Emenike

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, in the March 11th, election, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, says rescuing Abia from her current state, requires a holistic and systematic approach.

He said it entails applying systematic approach because successive administrations in the state, have arrogated the resources of the State to themselves while also killing critical sectors that should attract development to Abia and her citizens.

High Chief Ikechi Emenike, who made the revelation on Sunday at his residence in Umukabia, Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA of Abia State during the unveiling of his manifesto tagged “Rescue and Develop Abia,” said for the past 24 years, the state has remained underdeveloped while corruption has remained endemic.

He said Abia is a total mayhem, ranging from poor infrastructure, non-payment of workers (teachers and salaries of pensioners), saying that every other sector in the State yearns for development.

The APC Abia Governorship candidate pointed out that he is on a rescue mission to salvage Abia from the clutches of poor infrastructure, bad governance which is deeply rooted in corruption, reiterating that it has eaten deep into the fabrics of the State.

He charged Abians not to vote for same corrupt people who have sidetracked development in the State while focusing on enriching their pockets and building an empire of large scale corruption.

Emenike said he is contesting to block these leakages in Government just as he noted that if elected, he will demonstrate to Abians that they have been shortchanged for too long, assuring that he will ensure that those who embezzle public funds are jailed.

He enjoined youth in the State to be passionate about the well-being of the State as those who have sidetracked development have also failed in creating jobs for the teeming youth of the State who do not have jobs despite spending years in the University.

High Chief Emenike informed that he has assembled a formidable team of professionals who are not part of the decayed system, emphasizing that he will work with them to ensure the emergence of a first world state despite existing in a third world country.

He however, unveiled a brochure which contained 23 key deliverables on how to rescue and develop the state which include: to be the chief marketing officer of made-in-Aba products and services, modernise and intensify value-added agricultural practices within the State among others.
