Abia Town Planners Mourn the Death of Prof Ikonne

The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Abia State Chapter, has commiserated with the family of late Prof. Uche Ikonne, describing the death of the academic as devastating.

Reacting to the news of the death of the Professor of Optometry, which was brokered on Wednesday, the Town Planners, said it came as a huge surprise especially now that the Professor was planning to take his political career to another dimension.

In their condolence message on Friday to his family, PDP, Abians and every other person affected by the death of the Professor, the Chairman of the Institute of Town Planners, Abia State Chapter, TPl Stephen Chukwudi Nwazue, said the intellectual prowess of the late Prof. Ikonne will be greatly missed.

TPl Nwazue recalled during their Stakeholders Luncheon, held in Aba, last year September 2022, how the erudite Professor who was a guest at the programme reeled out his plans and pledged to physically develop major towns in Abia if he emerged Governor, adding that it is regrettable that he did not stay alive to pursue his dream of achieving the physical development of the State, if elected.

He noted that it pains to lose a philanthropist, giver and a cheerful man, praying God to grant his soul eternal rest.

TPl Nwazue, specifically commiserated with his immediate family, Abia PDP, the Ngwa nation and Abians in general among others to be consoled, while praying God to be with them in their moment of grief.
