The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday, released the final list of candidates contesting the Governorship seat in the 2023 general elections in Abia State.
Prominent in the list released by the electoral body, is the candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC and a Methodist cleric, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha.
Others on the list include; The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Prof. Uche Ikonne, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Prof. Greg Ibe, the candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Alex Otti, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ikechi Emenike, candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Engr Enyinaya Nwafor among others.
Recall that the commission had last month said that the final list of candidates for state elections (Governorship and State Houses of Assembly) would be published on October 4th, 2022.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu had stated this at the experts’ meeting on conducting elections in volatile security environment in Abuja.
