An Abia born technocrat and the Deputy Governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP in Abia State, Onowu Martins Nwakanma, has called for the retirement of those whom he referred to as “regular customers” in Abia State in 2023 general election.
Onowu Martins who stated this at the weekend in Aba, during an inauguration (meeting) by the Ohafia Youth Development Union, said it has become imperative for Abians to massively see to the emergence of a woman as the next Governor of Abia State in 2023, noting that same recycled politicians have failed to uplift the State.
He said the situation in Abia today is worrisome, as the negative news that emanate on daily basis, ranging from poor infrastructure, non-payment of salaries, among others, have continued to present her in bad light.

Onowu Nwakanma, revealed that this has become necessary following the backwardness and underdevelopment past Governors starting from the days of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Theodore Orji and now Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has plunged the State into, stressing that it is only a woman that can change what appears to be a happenstance in Abia State.
He emphasized the need for power to shift to Abia North and contended that a qualified woman such as Nnenna N’Mma Lancaster-Okoro Esq has what it takes to reposition Abia, insisting that the story of Abia State has to change for the better
Onowu Nwakanma who is the Immediate Past Regional Manager South-East TNN 2023, noted that the time has come for Abians particularly women and youth to rally round and relegate sentiments to the background while asking themselves why the State is so backward in terms of development, pointing out that Abia has the resources to be among States to be used as example for development in Nigeria.
The technocrat who is known to have followers all over South-East, said it was regrettable that Abians have been portrayed as poor people by the present administration, frowning that after impoverishing the State, the present leadership also went on national Television to portray Abia women as poor, pointing out that this should force women to put resources together and support a woman as the next Governor in 2023.
Onowu Nwakanma who was a Co-ordinator of Abia State TNN and who has Local Government Co-ordinators in Abia state and South-East as a whole, charged women and youth in the State not to allow anyone give them crumbs and criticise them afterwards.
He expressed optimism that the Governorship Candidate of PRP, Nnenna N’mma Lancaster-Okoro Esq who will take care of their problems will emerge as Governor of Abia State come 2023 to change their story for good.
