Seated at the Southern part of his thatched hut, Uzo Ihuka beamed with smiles as sons and daughters of men thronged his residence to fraternize with him.
As a Knight of the Catholic Order, he is always at home to provide succour for his parishioners and others alike.
At the far East of the hut, were all kinds of beverages but the chiefs among them were Palm wine saturated with nchē and mgborogwu.
Situated at the Western part of the hut were ntiko, beer and wine glasses, kaikai tiny cups, and a couple of who-send-you cups.
De Njoku, slightly tipsy, sauntered into the hut, as if there was a magnet, his body was pulled towards mgborogwu without the usual greetings. De Njoku shouted “Uzo nwanem, where did you get this kind of mgborogwu”?
As usual of him, Uzo encouraged him to take a sip and the rest is history.
This writer sat at the Northern pole of the hut, taking mental note of how people come in happily and go home blissfully.
Growing up, Uzo Ihuka has been a determined soul, internally aggressive, but physically calm.
He is blessed with wisdom from above and the zeal to survive against all odds.
His inroad to the public sector and politics is a testimony.
Ihuka is a brother to have, his relationship with others is plastic as he is not interested in who you are or where you are coming from.
He thinks that people should be given equal opportunities and watch them grow.
His touch and follow syndrome is graceful as he is liberal with his resources.
This writer will not forget in a hurry what Ihuka did on December 4, 2018, at Michael Okpara Auditorium.
It was the day this writer’s book, ‘What A Billionaire Told A Poor Man’ was launched by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD.
It should be underscored that Ihuka either performed magic or a miracle on the said day.
He was also the Chairman of the event.
The former ASOPADEC Commissioner knows no peace when his friends are troubled, he goes out of this way to lend a helping hand.
One can succinctly say that Uzo Ihuka lives for others, and his quest to touch many people positively orchestrated energies as he emerged as the President of Ngwa Patriots Forum (NPF), a frontline Ngwa social-cultural organization.
As the president of NPF, Sir Ihuka has initiated programs for the upwards economic mobility of the Ngwa nation.
Uzo is an ardent believer in skill acquisition
As a former PA to late Emeka Omerua, Uzo worked himself to the consciousness of his boss that he became Omerua’s legs and hands.
His NGO, Uzo Ihuka Foundation has over the years pulled many out of the poverty bracket.
President Ihuka is an advancing personality.
Nothing comes to him and remains the same without positive impacts.
He loves an environment where people are happy doing their bits for the overall goal.
Once you come in contact with him, you will come back for more as he is a fountain of understanding of life and extremely deep
Above all, Ihuka fears God.
In case you see him tomorrow morning, smile.
Then, give him a glass of cool water.
Ihuka is a citizen of the world.
