A Senatorial candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District under the Youth Progressive Party, YPP, Chief Chuku Wachuku, has bemoaned the ruling class for the deceit and idea of discouraging the youth by telling them to wait a little for their time.
Chief Chuku Wachuku who is in sole position to win the Abia Central Central seat in the 2023 general election, frowned at a situation where Nigerians, especially the youth, are presented with unique opportunities to make changes in their lives but dashed or postponed for another election year.
He stated this on Sunday in a statement he personally endorsed, titled, “Dashed Hope, the Youth Rise Up and Make A Difference”.
Chief Chuku Wachuku, noted that at first, they came up with the “Not too young to Rule ” fight which according to him, didn’t get anywhere or make any glaring input at changing the practice of sidetracking the youth.
He noted that while the entire country was guessing to see if the ” Not too Young to Rule hoax”, will make any headway, the same people have resorted to movement to parties with ideological themes which are not favorable to the youth, women, stressing that these movements, are meant to present themselves with the “Same Old Song”.
Chief Chuku Wachuku who is advocating the return of power to the next generation of leaders, charged youth, women among others, to rise up and take their future in their hands. He enjoined them to reject recycled politicians just as he reminded them that nothing can change unless they rise up and reject the current status quo.
The statement reads in part, “Every four years, Nigerians and especially Youths, are presented with a unique opportunity to make a change in their lives; each time they postpone it. First it was the “Not too young to Rule ” fight; they didn’t get anywhere.
Now, it is movement to parties with ideological themes not favorable to the youth and women, just to present themselves with the Same Old Song”.
He concluded by imploring the people to try new people and see the difference just as he admonished them to register massively to vote as it has become pertinent to vote out all those who have enriched themselves and kept the citizens poorer.
