Nigeria has become a huge circus, going by the utterances of some persons, who see themselves as demigods, whose words is law and for those in this category, an anathema it is to go contrary to their whims and caprices.
The effrontery is out of this world for an individual to fathom to utter that his turn it is to rule Nigeria as though the country at large is a business enterprise or a negotiated territory being controlled by some super power somewhere(?).
Statements credited to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu(?) is prone to very disturbing interpretations as perception is unarguably everything, given the period the country is in presently.
The sensibilities of Nigerians are on daily basis being insulted by such utterances as though power belongs to a clique or coven, where at/in their nocturnal gatherings, they sit and decide who takes what and how they please.
It is not to be argued that most Nigerians see Tinubu as one of the problems facing the country and by his utterances, he is directly rubbing it in that indeed he is one, as alluded.
It is on record that the merger that birthed the APC was concieved by Dr Ogbonnaya Onu of the then ANPP which was bought into by Buhari’s CPC and a faction of the APGA. The ACN, funded by Tinubu was brought into the picture and a formidable force was brought to life, which wrestled power from the PDP in 2015.
If Tinubu’s statement is to be taken to heart, what would be the line of thought of Ogbonnaya Onu, Rochas Okorocha and the likes who are appealing to the consciences of Nigerians rather than laying claim to the rulership of the country as a birthright or entitlement? Why sound as though he singlehandedly installed Buhari and the latter must in turn as a sign of sheepish gratitude pass the baton to him and wave Aso Rock goodbye? What?
Even in the South West presently, the political magicians are obviously no longer dancing to the drummings of the Jagaban and that is something worth thinking about.
While the right to aspire is seen as sacrosanct, choice of words but be critically put into consideration as Semantics is no respecter of persons. No one would be patient enough to give a second chance for the explanation of what was originally meant or intended.
Like Nyesom Wike, Tinubu is being loquacious and what befell Wike might befall him.
Infact, most Nigerians do not want Tinubu to be President and that is the crux of the matter, whether he chooses to mind his language or not. His entitlement mentality as concerns the leadership of the country has reached a crescendo.
Nigeria no be Lagos.
