A founding member of the All Progressives Congress, APC Hon. Uche Nduka Anyanwu on Friday emerged as the party flag bearer for Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency.
Hon. Anyanwu who is an ex-offico of the party’s National Executive polled 3687 votes to defeat his closest rival, Marlene Onyeocha who polled 5 votes only.
Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Chigozie Ukachi said the primary was done through direct primary as directed by the National Office.
In his acceptance speech, the candidate, Hon. Uche Nduka Anyanwu flayed the non-adherence the party’s National Working Committee, NWC directive to use direct system of voting by some people.
He said his emergence followed due process, and therefore authentic.
He assured that as the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia at the National Assembly, that he will deliver do democracy dividend to his constituents.
“I promise to serve and restore the constituency through road infrastructure, hospitals, education and will attract all that is due to the constituency.
