The Co-chair Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace and Founder Vision Africa International, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari federal government to provide political solution to the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu situation so as to douse the tension in the South-East.
The Methodist Bishop who made the call on Friday at the State Office of the African Democratic Congress ADC, while declaring his intention to join the Abia Governorship race, said if FG had heeded calls by eminent Igbo leaders, political solutions to the IPOB leader would have ended agitations in South-East.
Bishop Onuoha revealed that if not for anything, President Buhari would have granted political solution to Nnamdi Kanu because of a 93-year-old statesman, the First Republic parliamentarian and Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, who led the delegation and begged that he is released to allow eminent people from the zone address the issue.
He harped on the need for FG to quickly address Kanu’s case, stating that, “Nnamdi Kanu’s case is a hot ice cream, everyday, FG makes him popular”, adding that tension is rising in the zone due to demand for the release of the IPOB leader.
In his words, ” There is need to find political solution to the Nnamdi Kanu’s situation, because it has caused a whole lot of agitation. I was part of a delegation that met with President Buhari last November to demand political solution, if FG had done what we begged for, Kanu would have been released by now”.
