As the race for Abia Central Representative in the Senate intensifies, the Member Representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Rep. Sam Onuigbo has declared to run for Abia Central Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress, (APC) with a firm promise to re-define representation.
Declaring his interest on Friday in Umuahia, Rep. Onuigbo said the entirety of his quest to represent the people is borne out of a listening ear to the yearnings and aspirations of his people, adding that he developed a principle called EAR (Effectiveness, Accessibility and Responsiveness).
He pointed out that when he came on board, the Ikwuano/Umuahia Ikot Ekpene Federal road was in a deplorable condition, informing that he was able to find a temporary solution to the impassable portion of the road after he was sworn-in in 2015.
The House of Reps Committee Chairman on Climate Change, noted that he has attracted and concluded mammoth projects for his constituents including the on-going construction of Umuahia/Ikwuano Ikot Ekpene Federal road, Bills in the House of Reps among other landmark achievements.
Rep Onuigbo added that he has insisted that good governance is entrenched, stressing that it is time to redefine leadership and representation, re- emphasising that this process should centre around the masses who are critical stakeholders in the process.
He noted that based on the aforementioned, he has decided to serve the people in higher capacity and re-define representation, stating that 2023 should present itself as an opportunity to correct the mistakes of today, declaring that he is the best candidate as his wealth of experience in human leadership makes him eminently qualified.
Onuigbo said apart from being visionary and providing people oriented programmes for the people, his experience and ability to manage the potentials in people, place him above other candidates in the race, calling for support of the people of Abia Central which according to him, is key in moving Abia Central to the next level of development.
Correspondent reports that the Federal Lawmaker also used the opportunity to present his expression of interest and nomination forms to the people of Abia Central as well as Party faithful.
