The President and Founder Vision Africa International and Co-Chair, Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace, Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, has said Easter is a season to reassure the people as well as encourage one another that evil can never prevail over truth.
The Methodist Bishop who gave the message of hope in his Easter message titled, “Easter: A Time to Give Hope”, said the season is all about encouragement while also expressing deep belief that a new age which will take away all sufferings and gnashing of teeth has been established.
He said the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the saviour of mankind, pushed Christians into a new dawn of hope, stressing that since Christians have been ushered into this new dawn, it is pertinent that they claim all that belong to them.
The 2013 Global Peace Award Winner, said the death and resurrection of Christ, brought unprecedented peace to Christians, pointing out that such peace, should unite the world at this critical time that nations are beginning to rise against nations.
Bishop Dr. Onuoha who charged Christians not to give up despite daunting challenges in Nigeria, reminded them that Jesus Christ never gave up during the entire period of crucifixion and death, maintaining that He exhibited courage even when there was option to let the cup pass away.
The vocal cleric admonished Nigerians to, despite their religious and ethnic inclinations, allow the spirit of Easter celebration unite them further, stressing that there is still hope of a great Nigeria where all will be treated equally.
