Executive Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area, Hon. Chuks Wabara, has distanced himself from the controversial comment credited to his elder brother, Senator Adolphus Wabara, where the later said that PDP will loose Abia gubernatorial election if an Ngwa man becomes the party flag bearer in the 2023 general election.
Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, the Ukwa East Council Boss stated that whatever decision his elder brother took was solely his, noting that he was never consulted and neither is he party to whatever formed the decision and statement.
He added that he saw the news about the statement just the same way every other Abia citizen did.
The LG Chairman clearly stated that his commitment and loyalty is with the State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, whom he said, is his boss and leader of his party, the People’s Democratic Party, insisting that he will not compromise his standard.
In his words, “I was not privy to the information, neither was I consulted. I am not part of my brother’s decision, as it was his sole decision. I stand with the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, my leader and boss and will follow wherever he leads. As the Chiarman of Ukwa East LGA, I am committed to ensuring that the dividends of democracy gets to my people which is why I was elected and to compliment the efforts of the Governor at the grassroot.”
It would be recalled that the former Senator and Chairman of Abia State University Governing Board, had in a press statement, called for Abia State gubernatorial power to be returned to Abia North if the PDP must retain power in 2023.
