The President, Vision Africa International and Co-chair Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace, Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, has sent his condolences to families affected by the Aba mishap of Thursday, February 3rd, 2022.
Recall that a loaded trailer had, on Thursday, lost control and fallen into the abattoir located at Waterside River Area of Ogbor Hill, Aba, Abia State, causing deaths, injuries as well as damaged goods belonging to traders in the area as casualty level remains unclear.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident on Friday via a statement he personally endorsed captioned “Aba Mishap, I Am Pained”, the Methodist Bishop said he is pained by the unfortunate incident, occurring at a time when people find it difficult to feed, decrying the level of destruction caused by the trailer.
He said the cause of the accident calls for concern by well meaning Abians. While commending the State government, Bishop Onuoha called for caution on the part of those using heavy trucks, stating that their carelessness while on the wheels, has claimed many lives in the past.
The Global Peace Winner advised the State Government to come up with a stringent measure that will see heavy trucks operate only at night, pointing out that some nearby States, have barred heavy trucks from plying strategic roads as well as insist they ply only at night.
He however commiserated with families of those affected by the mishap, praying that God strengthens and consoles them in their moments of grief.
