Nigeria’s Super Eagles will file out against a youthful and physically fit Guinea-Bissau in their last Group D match at the AFCON 2021 hosted by Cameroon.
The Super Eagles have qualified for the round of 16, but there is all to play for when the Eagles confront Guinea-Bissau today who needs all three points to bolster their chances of remaining in Cameroon as best qualifiers in the group stage.
A win by the Super Eagles against Guinea-Bissau, will no doubt keep the players in buoyant mood heading into the last 16, but if they lose against their opponent, no doubt, there will be a drop in the confidence level of the Super Eagles whom people have commended and supported massively.
Worthy of mention here, is the fact that Guinea-Bissau will be all out to attack the Super Eagles in their quest to grab the maximum point. But the Augustine Eguavoen’s tutored Eagles must know the task they are up against and brace up to the challenge of checkmating the physically fit and youthful Guinea-Bissau team.
Eguavoen should also note that anything is possible in football as we saw Comoros Islands shock Ghana last night in their last Group game. He should be careful in his team selection having announced that he will be making changes to the team that defeated the Pharaohs of Egypt and the Bright Stars of Sudan.
Nigeria needs to maintain her 100 percent record in the group stage of the AFCON 2021 tournament which was also attained by Augustine Eguavoen in 2006 when he defeated Ghana 1-0, Zimbabwe 2-0 and Senegal 2-1.
There is indeed all to play for when the Super Eagles file out later today against Guinea-Bissau. A win will gladden the hearts of fans back home, a draw may also be appreciated but in all, Nigeria Super Eagles cannot afford to lose this game because it will dampen their confidence heading into the knock-out stage of the competition.
