TPL Stephen Chukwudi Nwazue has emerged the Chairman, Abia Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners.
In an election held on Thursday at the Association’s temporary office located at number 44 Azikiwe Road Umuahia, Tpl Nwazue polled a total of 42 votes to defeat the other contestant Tpl Chidinma Nwobi who secured 14 out of 56 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Tpl Nwazue, thanked his colleagues for the confidence they reposed by electing him to pioneer the affairs of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Abia State chapter.
He commended the Electoral Committee for a job well done and for a smooth transition of the Chapter’s leadership. On behalf of the newly elected Executive Committee members, he promised to collectively take Abia NITP to a higher level.
Tpl Nwazue passionately appealed to those he contested with together with all members to join forces with the new Exco to build a very formidable Chapter where UNITY, PEACE and LOVE will reign supreme.
While noting that government is a continuum, he assured that his administration shall build on the foundation already laid by the outgoing administration.
He also lauded the outgoing Chairman, Tpl Kingsley Madumere and his Executive Committee members for the giant strides they achieved while in office, pledging to follow in their positive steps, even to achieve more positive results for the Chapter.
While congratulating the new Exco, the immediate past Chairman Tpl Kingsley Madumere, encouraged Tpl Nwazue and wished him well just as he prayed to surpass the height he attained.
