Women in Abia State under the aegis of Africa in Praise Network, have called on the State Government to investigate Saturday’s attack on members by unidentified thugs.
The Group which expressed worry that the lives of the citizenry could be at stake if thugs continue to attack spiritual gathering of that nature in the state, added that it was regrettable that thugs could disrupt the gathering of Christians who had come together to render supplications unto the Lord on behalf of the State.

Recall that unidentified thugs had on Saturday attacked the Group when they had gathered to pray at Portharcourt road by Uratta, Aba, Abia State over the state of the road among other concerns.
In the process, it was learnt that the thugs in large number stormed the area, asked ASEPA workers who were clearing paths around the area where the women were to leave while unleashing attack on Ministers and women who only came to intercede for the state.
Newsbuka.com, gathered that the women drawn from different denominations on a routine basis, pray for the well being of the land, using the tag “Women At It Again’ while crying unto God to intervene in the affairs of the state.
However, on Saturday, the women, having used other venues decided to go to Portharcourt road which was the major focus of their prayer before they were given the beating of their lives and chased away.
Speaking to newsmen, the facilitator, Apostle Reminder Gad, whose white handkerchief was soaked with the blood from his wounded mouth, said all they wanted is to create an interface between the church and the government.
He noted that the women alongside other clergy, are not anti-government but were only there to seek divine intervention, stressing that what is happening in the state is not ordinary and requires God’s intervention.
