As secessionist groups continue to agitate ceaselessly, the Delta State Government has expressed worry over the development, warning that they pose great consequences for food security and peace in the country.
Delta Secretary to the State Government Patrick Ukah, who stated this in Asaba, called for urgent intervention to stem rising incidents of kidnapping, terrorism, banditry and violent clashes between herders and farmers.
He spoke when officers and students of Senior Course 44, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, visited his office in Asaba.
Ukah re-emphasised the need for the state government to partner officers and participants from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in their national assignment aimed at establishing a relationship between national security and socio-economic development.
