Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday pledged to implement the recommendations of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS, related abuses and other matters submitted to him by the panel.
Speaking while submitting the report to the governor at Lagos House, Ikeja, the Chairman of the panel, Justice Doris Okuwobi, said a total of N410 million was awarded to 70 victims of police brutality, adding that 235 petitions were received with only 14 on Lekki shooting.
Meanwhile, Governor Sanwo-Olu as a follow-up, constituted a four member committee led by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), to raise a White Paper on the report of the panel within two weeks.
