Nigeria’s Constitution Unrealistic, Lacking Power to Ensure Security of Lives, Property ~ Olanipekun

Chief Wole Olanipekun, (SAN), former President, Nigeria Bar Association, on Wednesday said the country’s constitution was unrealistic, deceptive and lacking power to guarantee security of lives and property.

Olanipekun, also declared that the country’s constitution could not be amended, adding that the National Assembly had complicated the issue with its attempt to amend law that had neither origin nor an author.

Speaking while delivering the 13th Convocation Lecture of The Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, on the topic: ‘Beyond the pandemic: Creating and evolving new normal’, the legal luminary said every functioning nation would have a masterplan ingrained in its constitution.
