The Nigerian Railway Corporation has confirmed that suspected bandits on Wednesday damaged a section of the Abuja-Kaduna rail track with explosives, forcing an interruption of train services on the route.
The Managing Director of the NRC, Fidet Okhiria, stated that the explosives damaged the rail track at a spot between Dutse and Rijana, an area that had recorded numerous bandits’ attacks along the Kaduna Abuja highway.
He informed that efforts are being made to restore train services on the route.
Recall that the former Senator that represented Kaduna Central Shehu Sani had in a tweet alleged that terrorists attacked a Kaduna-Abuja train on Wednesday with explosives, adding that he narrowly escaped death.
