As insecurity continues to take the front burner, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has called on Muslim faithful in Nigeria to pray for the unity of the country and rise against all forms of violence.
Okowa made the call in his goodwill message to Muslims in the country as they celebrate Eid el Maulud, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
The Governor in a statement issued to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika in Asaba on Monday said Nigeria is presently plagued by insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, herders-farmers clashes and agitations which had continued to hamper the growth and development of the nation.
Okowa urged the Muslim faithful and other religious groups to intensify prayers for needed reforms for a better Nigeria.
