Ex-governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Sunday declared as false reports that he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged mismanagement of pension funds.
He stated that he personally reported at the commission’s headquarters on Saturday to tender clarifications over the allegations and met with officials of the anti-graft agency for some hours.
A statement made available to newsmen by his media office, said Kwankwaso was invited by the commission in September over allegations of abuse of office, diversion of public funds and fraudulent allocation of government property to cronies.
The statement added that Senator Kwankwaso went to the commission’s office on his own accord.
